LILAC (Living in Lagos Artists Collective) recently hosted a special double celebration, marking both the successful opening of our vibrant Spring Exhibition and the birthday of one of our members. 

It was the second art show by LILAC artists, taking place just six months after the opening of our collective studio at the LACO Business Hub in Lagos. In this short time, LILAC has flourished into a thriving creative hub, hosting art workshops and community events in a warm and inclusive environment.

The Spring Exhibition featured brand-new artworks created in our new space, showcasing a diverse range of styles and techniques unique to each artist. The event was a resounding success, filled with inspiring conversations, artistic discoveries, and a strong sense of community. During the show Beata presented her new series, “Dunes” painted with eco-friendly Natural Earth Paints. Inspired by the resilience of grass, which flourishes even in the harshest conditions, these works symbolize nature’s strength. The series explores themes of perseverance and adaptability, emphasizing the quiet power of patience in overcoming adversity.
